Free patient guide
You’ve rested it. You’ve done the physical therapy. Maybe you’ve tried medication, or a cortisone shot that helped for a while, or someone has already said the word surgery. And it still hurts.
I wrote this guide so that when you finally sit down with someone about regenerative options, you walk in organized instead of starting from scratch.

What’s inside
Most people arrive at an evaluation trying to reconstruct five years of treatment from memory, then leave remembering the question they meant to ask. This is built to fix that.
01
A symptom checklist you fill in ahead of time, so the description of your pain doesn’t change depending on the day you’re asked.
02
A treatment history worksheet covering what you’ve tried, when, and what it actually did.
03
What PRP is in plain language, and what happens during a treatment start to finish.
04
A side-by-side comparison of rehabilitation, medication, cortisone, PRP, and surgery.
05
The five factors that determine whether PRP is a reasonable fit for a given problem.
06
A before-you-say-yes checklist, and the questions people hesitate to ask, written out so you don’t have to find the words.
Worth saying plainly
It will not tell you whether you’re a candidate for PRP. Nothing can do that from a page, and I’d be careful with anyone who says otherwise.
PRP does not guarantee tissue repair or cartilage regrowth. For the uses that have been studied most closely, knee osteoarthritis and certain tendon problems, the research is reasonably encouraging. Outside those, the evidence is less consistent, and I’d rather you hear that from me now than find out later.
What the guide does is put your history, your goals, and your questions in one place, so the conversation starts somewhere useful instead of starting over.

I’ve been in practice since 1991, and most of the people who find their way to me have already been somewhere else first. They’ve been worked up, imaged, injected, and sent home with a plan that didn’t hold.
The way I practice is to look at the whole person rather than the one joint that hurts, which takes longer and is the reason a first visit here runs 90 minutes and includes diagnostic ultrasound. Alongside PRP we also work with treatments derived from your own adipose tissue and selected donated umbilical-derived tissue options.

I came in to see Dr. Spiegel for a knee PRP procedure. Throughout the whole process Dr. Spiegel was very informative and provided exact details, to ease my mind and the results are incredible. I recommend PRP or other alternative options with Dr. Spiegel, you will not regret it.

My appointment was a follow-up on injections I had received. We had a very positive dialogue and review of what to expect in the pace of the healing process. Very positive!

I was pleasantly surprised with the amount of time, thoroughness, and interest in my medical history that Dr. Spiegel gave to me. First time I have felt that a doctor seems concerned about improving my overall well being.
